While a roof inspection on a new house should tell you what the condition of your roof is, it normally won’t provide you with any documentation insurance will look at. From our experience working with the roofing industry, if a storm damages a roof on a new home, an insurance adjuster may claim the damage is from before you purchased the home and not cover the damage. If you have a report showing the damage at time of purchase, you can prove that it’s new damage.
